2006 Judges

Jim Clark manages several local plantations.  In another life he worked for Sparkman and Stephens, Rybovich, and Bertram and Bennett Brothers Yachts. He has built three Georgetown Bateaux.
Darrell Hodo is an electrical engineer from the Isle of Palms. Be sure to see his 14'  "Owner Designed and Built" outboard power runabout on exhibit.
Gary Whaley is a North Carolina boatbuilder who builds small skiffs used mainly for flounder fishing. He has also been a commercial and charter fisherman.
Reed Tiller is a Georgetown native who has worked at Jarrett Bay Boatworks in Beaufort, NC. He is currently a harbor pilot here in Georgetown.
John Vang is a wooden boat designer and builder for the North Carolina Maritime Museum in Beaufort, and also teaches traditional small boat handling at the museum. John builds boat models on commission. His half-hull models will be exhibited at the Georgetown show.

Willie French grew up in New Zealand and then traveled the world - including Alaska where he competed in the 1981 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race - before settling in Georgetown. He has been the World Champion Boat Builder for three different boat designs with three different partners.
